About Eyeworks Opticians

Eyeworks Opticians and Contact Lens Centre in Whitley Bay was established in June 2016 by Simon and Karen Ferguson, with the aim of serving as a dynamic practice, where the patients can expect excellent quality and personal service.

Simon, former Optometrist Director of Specsavers Cramlington, has over 25 years experience in optics, 23 years of which as a fully qualified optometrist, graduating from London City University in 1992. He is a Member of the General Optical Council (GOC) and the Federation of Ophthalmic and Dispensing Opticians (FODO) and continually enhances his knowledge and skills through Continuing Educational and Training (CET). Simon is Accredited and directly involved in children’s vision screening and glaucoma referral schemes.

As an independent practice Simon and Karen strive to meet the needs of local people. Much time and effort has been devoted to ensure a relaxed and friendly atmosphere exists within the practice and that patients feel comfortable when they visit with that extra personal attention to detail.

The Practice has invested in the most up to date optometric equipment to ensure eye examinations and dispensing services are of the highest standard. As a Private or NHS Patient you will experience a comprehensive Eye Examination which includes Digital Retinal Photography as standard and more importantly at no extra cost.

In collaboration with world leading Carl Zeiss Optics, Eyeworks are able to offer unrivalled state of the art Prescription Lens choices in Single Vision, Bifocals, Occupational and Varifocal designs.
